The prison cell of a woman in Northern Ireland has come in for criticism after it was revealed that more than £2,000 has been spent on renovating it.
Marian Price, an alleged dissident republican, is currently the only resident of the Glen House unit of Maghaberry Prison and work to change the furniture in her room was reported to have cost £2,257, BBC News reported.
Justice minister David Ford revealed the information during an answer session and explained that the changes had been made in order to bring it in line with the accommodation used by other female detainees.
The cost included the price of a TV, computer, curtains, duvet set, as well as a lamp, mat and cushions.
People who would rather have furniture at home which was reminiscent of that used in Oxford University now have the chance as the institution has released a range of products inspired by its famous location and alumni.
