Wooden furniture is as popular as ever thanks to its beauty and durability; yet its versatility means it can be used to update any home, it has been said.
Furniture made from quality natural materials complements both contemporary and more traditional interiors, director of Turquoise Handicraft Bosco D’Mello told the Deccan Herald.
"Classic wooden furniture design is still the most popular and versatile because it provides flexibility when a look has to be changed or decor in the house is being changed," he said.
This year’s trend for neutral colours could be satisfied by incorporating light-toned walnut furniture in the home, allowing creative use of colours and textures to bring out the pale tones of the wood, suggested the publication.
Helen Green, in a recent interior design blog on terryfabrics.co.uk, advised using light wood furniture to brighten up dark rooms and bring a summer feel to a home.
Furniture could even create a tropical look by incorporating mango wood and weaving techniques.
