Dining table ‘can be centre of autumn celebration’
As the seasons change and summer begins to turn to autumn, the dining table in each home could become a focal point.
This is because autumn traditionally means the return of "real food", such as warm soup, casserole and fruit crumble, says Helen Green, author of the blog on terrysfabrics.co.uk.
With such delicious dining on the menu, it seems only right to ensure the dining table is ready to do it justice.
Ms Green recommends simple measures, such as adding new place mats, can be highly effective and create a great mood.
"Celebrate the return of good food and good company in your dining room with some new table decor," she urges.
Opting for items and decorations with "a little shimmer" in them is one of the best policies to have when buying such pieces.
The same author recently noted the importance of dark and warm colours, such as green and brown, when designing a home for autumn.
