A furniture firm in the US is set to create 400 new jobs as it opens a manufacturing and distribution centre.
United Furniture Industries (UFI) is due to take up a 500,000 sq ft lease in an industrial facility at the Southern California Logistics Airport, with 100 jobs to be created by next spring, the Daily Press reported.
It is planned that a further 300 people will be employed in the coming years as part of the largest ever single lease to be taken in the High Desert region.
"We plan to complete a soft opening of manufacturing and distribution operations in November," said UFI spokesman Bob Cottam said in a statement.
The hiring process for the new workforce is set to begin in October.
There could be a demand for products crafted in the centre from Saudi Arabia, after figures from RNCOS reported that the Middle East is currently one of the fastest growing markets for furniture.
