Ideal dining furniture may have to work with autumn shades

Published on: August 31, 2010 | Flori Arr

Splashing out on new dining furniture, such as a table and chairs, could be an effective way of changing the look of a home as autumn arrives.

Helen Green, author of the blog on terrysfabrics.co.uk, recommends the use of a variety of shades to reflect the colder months and increased demand for dining indoors.

"Think of the leaves shifting colours from green to orange, red and gold. Think of harvest time – pumpkins, carrots and juicy red apples," she advises.

Such words may have an impact on the type of dining furniture that works best in a space.

Ms Green goes on to note decorating a dining table with a fabric cloth and dining chairs with cushions in matching tones is likely to be a wise move.

The author recently used the blog to praise the role of wood in the kitchen, perhaps tempting some people to move dining furniture from its traditional position.
