Veterans crafting quality furniture from carehome
A group of veterans in the US who are making furniture have been getting a great deal of support and acclaim for their products from the local area and beyond.
Doug Anderson, Ken Ross, Gordon Schmidt and Ron Brozek live and work together in the Minnesota Veteran's Home in Hastings and the Hastings Star Gazette reported that their craft skills are becoming very widely known.
For around two-and-a-half hours a day, the four men go to the workshop, where they have been crafting products such as flag cases and picture frames.
And for the past three months, they have been working on a large table for their home's information technology department.
"It was one of our typical 'I've got a space, can you put this in it'," Mr Anderson explained.
Some people who live in compact apartments could be interested in finding bespoke furniture which can be used for a variety of purposes, with designer Danielle Lareau recently explaining this is becoming a strong trend.
